Gathering with my friends in BOCES

It has been a long time to see my Korean women whom I made friends in BOCES(Board of Cooperative Educational Service).

They're studying in BOCES in their own ways, that place is English learning center for adult and has the advantage of learning free. There are also many kinds of people from various countries such as people who want to get a high school's certificate, people who lost one's opportunity to study because of living, and people who want to get along with other people etc.

I've been there for a while when I came in the USA last year, and I attended to practice while this summer vacation. I miss there because there are a lot of friends about my age. They just talk about ways of living instead of homework, so their English skills are always at a standstill. How an irony it has!!

Did you actually meet with your BOCES friends today? Are you saying they don't improve their English because they speak to one another about life in Korean, not in English? If they speak English, even if it is about daily life, they should still improve a little.

All of them(including me)know that they should speak in English, but they prefer sharing their information to improving English.
I met a new friend who loves all kinds of politics, is a well-informed in politics. She has a Jewish husband who is a businessman, so she talked about 'Rash Hashnah' and 'Election 2008' about 2 hours.

That sounds like a good friend to have if you want to speak English. Actually, I'm not sure you spoke in English. Is the new friend Korean? I hope she didn't do all the talking for 2 hours. I hope you got a few words in too!
